Dr. C. Just wondering - when we bandsters have a fill - how does it go right to the band and not stay in the tubing? How much is needed before the tubing is full and the band starts filling? Also - do you recommend an endoscopy at certain time periods on your band patients even if they are no problems - I mean like yearly or every two years. If so, why? Thanks for all the info and thanks again for the help earlier and I followed your suggestion on the fill size. Paula L. (Ohio)

Paula, The tubing probably holds less than 0.5cc's, and once it's primed even if you take all the fill out, you will never get that back so you don't have to re-prime it. Good luck, Dr. C

Thanks- after 16 months I probably should have known that but I thought maybe others would like to know too. What are your thoughts on the endoscopy - needed periodically or not? Paula L.

Sorry, I forgot about that. I don't think it's a bad idea, however I do not require it. For one thing, if you are doing fine and don't have any symptoms, insurance won't cover it. C
