Question for Dr. C

Dr. C: I am 8 months post-op and I have been having problems with low blood sugar. I have never had a problem with sugar before. I have talked to my surgeon about this and he claims that this is something that is just starting to come out with gastric bypass patients, do you know if that is true? And do you know why this happens? Please let me know. I am not happy with my surgeon.

Hypoglycemia is a problem sometimes for bypass patients. There really isn't a lot you can do about it if it happens other than adjust your diet. It's pretty rare that it is enough of a problem to be disabling. Dr. C
