OT-Abcess/septic shock
I had a perirectal abcess (thought it was just some kind of boil). I was really sick on Sunday, ended up leaving work early and going to ER. I knew it was bad when 10 minutes after arriving in ER I was being given morphine and a surgical team was on the way. The abcess had gotten bad enough to cause sepsis-I hadn't called the doctor because I was embarrassed. (Of course being hopped up on morphine on a Sunday night while 5 people stare at your crack is WAY more embarassing-believe me.) Anyway, they removed the abcess, gave me some medicine and sent me on my way. (I don't have ANY insurance). Now I have to follow up with the surgeon in two weeks. There is apparently some concern that the abcess was caused by Chrones disease-which runs in my family. If I do have Chrones what effect will my GB have on it? Anyone know?
Thanks!
