Hello/New to the site
Hello everyone.
My name is John. I live in Lake County, Ohio. I am 36 year's old. I weigh 280lbs. I went about a week ago for a physical (First one in 4-5 yrs) now that i have insurance (Qual Choice). The doctor was very nice and said in a nice way that my back trouble's were due to my over weight. I have known this but now i am going to do something about it. On Wed we will look at the blood work and come up with a game plan on how to do this. He brought up the subject of having by pass surgery. So. Here i am. Anyway. Just wanted to say hi,i will be around the site.

John welcome to the Ohio Board. I had the surgery Sept 21, 2006 I am down 70 pounds. No problems at all. I feel like a 20 year old. I am 48 this surgery was the best decision I have ever made in my life. I feel so good about my future know. Before I had so many health issues including heart problems. I am excitited to see my Card. I just had a echo done and I am wondering if my heart is stronger. I know it has to be. I walk 2 miles a day. I do the elliptical 20 minutes a day and I do other toning excercises. This surgery saved my life. Please when making your decision read alot of these profiles. That is what helped me make my decision. When I seen how many people have had successful surgerys..
Good luck with your appt

Howdy, neighbor,
As you can see, I live right down the street from you. I am 1 year out from surgery and down 160 lbs. It is awesome to be a normal or near normal size. It is the first time in over 30 years that I have been at this weight. My plans include a trip to Cedar Point this summer and I will be riding EVERY SINGLE ROLLER COASTER in that park!
I can't wait. Good luck, it has been an awesome, incredible journey. One I would do again in a heartbeat. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Send me an email and I will send you my phone # if you have any questions. Good luck.
Linda
