:-Dhas anyone had surgery with Dr Chlysta
Hi, Kim
I originally signed up with Dr. Chlysta back in November. I really liked him a lot. He is the kind of doc you can joke around with and he was VERY thorough in his explanation. He told me that RNY was better for me than Lap-band.
However, his office is not real proactive about getting stuff in motion. I was looking for more help from them and thought when I went there that things would be done and that I'd get help invesitigating my insurance coverage and how to go about getting it. I heard that once your insurance is approved, they get real busy getting you scheduled for tests, etc. But I felt like I had to push them. I can only advise you to keep on their office about getting insurance approval and be really proactive about getting the papers you need for whatever insurance you have and what they want from you. Don't expect Chylsta's office to do this for you--they won't. When you send it in to his office, call after a few days and make sure they got it and send it in to your insurance or did whatever they had to do with it. If you don't, I think they'll just sit on it.
Anyway, I am now going through the Cleveland Clinic. They have an entire program and department devoted to the Bariatric Surgery. I hope they'll be able to lead me through all this since they are such a big "outfit". Good luck! :0)
