Surgery Cancelled!!!!

Hello Ohio Friends, I had my pre-op testing done yesterday and my EKG was not right. I have to have a stress test and be cleared by cardiology before they put me back on the surgery schedule. Boy, am I disappointed--cried all evening--I just can't believe after a year and a half I get to the last three days and this happens. I feel like someone beat me up... Leslie Middleburg Hts., OH

Leslie I am so sorry. I know you are disappointed, but also know you realize that your surgeon can't risk a cardiac problem pre-op. Keep your chin up...this will happen for you. You will go into the OR with one less thing to worry about. Sending best wishes you way. Diane

Leslie, Sorry to hear that your surgery has to be rescheduled. I, too, had to run around and get a cardiology clearance, but it was all worth it in the end. All I can say is the doctor wants to be sure you are healthy enough to survive this surgery and we certainly want that. Good luck and keep us posted. Linda

Don't fret, Leslie, I've been in this situation a number of times from the surgeon's side. I've never had an instance where we didn't eventually get the operation done, usually within a month or less. It's not worth taking a chance by jumping into an operation that your heart may not be ready for! Good luck, Dr. C

Leslie, Hang in there! This will pass by quickly. They are just making sure you are in the best shape possible so you will have the best outcome.

Leslie, Dont Give up.. I was delayed a little because of my cardiac history and needing additionall testing and another trip to the cardiologist. Just remember this is all in your BEST INTEREST.. And you will do much better in the longrun if everything is running tip top shape with your ticker. Soooo Please just keep the prayers going that whatever is acting abnormal gets healed and you can go through your surgery in no time. Sweetie, I know you are discouraged. But its better to be safe than have a complication. WE want you around a long time and see you become a big old loser along with the rest of us. Keep your chin up, its all just a little delay. I had the same thing happen to me. Luckily I got a stress test quickly before surgery. I hope you get the test done quickly.

I am so sorry to hear your bad news I know I would have done the same thing cried and cried. Take a deep breath, it is a good thing they don't just jump in there. Let us know when the big day will be. Betty
