I had a very good experience with the WISH Center in Springboro (near Dayton). I had to drive three hours each way, and the hospital they use is a 70s relic, but the care is top rate (hospital is old, but the nursing care is very good). Also, the WISH Center does things one-on-one, and will let you do their seminar online 9have your duaghter go to www.wishcenter.org for all their info). You have one all day intake appointment (where you meet the nurse, exercise physiologist, nutritionist, psychologist, finance person and the surgeon). They also do a urinalysis and a blood draw for testing. You have a second appointment (much shorter) two weeks before surgery, and another appointment two weeks after. The WISH Center really prepares people for the lifestyle changes they'll need to make. They get you exercising and really thinking about what you eat (not to mention eating better) before surgery. If I hadn't gone to them, I would have been so much less healthy going into my operation. I hope your daughter and son-in-law find a program that suits them. Good luck!
