I don't know if you read the Enquirer this morning but I wish you would clear all this junk up. Why is WLS so dangerous after a year. Now they are saying it's so dangerous that people are dying and I think they are scaring us to death. Could you please explain this to us? Thank you, Cindy

Cindy, I haven't seen the enquirer this morning, but I presume this is based on the article that came out a few months ago. This article was bogus, it dealt with only a very small subset of WLS patients. Common sense will tell you that you are a lot healthier now and much less likely to die than you were before surgery. Don't worry, be happy! C

Dr C and Cindy, You know what, even with the risks I would do this again in a heartbeat. If I died tomorrow from unexpected complications this far post op, I would want my family to know that I had no regrets. I would accept this 6 months of pure good health and wonderful self confidence as a gift from Dr Mikami and my maker. Living is risky business, there is danger around every corner and bite of food. But I have lived my dream.. My dream of walking without pain, riding roller coasters, walking without oxygen, burning my handicap parking permit and letting my family see me blossom into the mom they never saw before.. So No Regrets.. And lots of plans to live to a ripe old age and become a dirty old woman and date young studs.. LOL.. Are you trying to seduce me Mrs Robinson.. Your darn Tootin I am. LOL Hugs, Laura
