Low Blood Sugar????

I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with low blood sugar since their surgery. I am 7 months post-op on on friday I had to go to the dentist (and I was num just about all day) so I only ate some chicken noodle soup for lunch. I started feeling real funny later on and I started sweating and shaking really bad and I felt like I wanted to go to sleep. My husband thought that maybe I was having a low sugar attack so he gave me some candy to eat. I did feel a little better after that. I have never had a problem with low blood sugar or high blood sugar. I have lost 80 pounds so far so I don't know if my body is just not adjusting to the weight loss or not. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what did you do when this happened to you? I am not sure if I should go to the doctor or wait to see if it happens again.

Michelle, I have had recurring problems with low blood sugar since my surgery as well. Can not seem to see any links other than waiting too long to eat, or not eating enough carbs. My last episode was about a month ago (I am almost 11 months post op), had not eaten for 6 hours or so. Got shakes, sweats, and so dizzy! Drank some juice and felt better almost immediately. I did double check with my surgeons office, and they said not to worry.....but mostly, not to go so long without eating!!! LOL.......I seem to have to eat about every 2 1/2 - 3 hours, then no issues. I would just advise you, tho, to watch the sugar if you are tending to be hypo-glycemic. Juice is a much better option, since dumping on fruit sugars is not as easy. It really sucks to go into a huge dumping episode, after the low blood sugar! Trust me on that one! Good luck, and I hope this helps you! Oh, and congrats on your loss! Way to go!!!!!!
