New to the Boards - 12/27 Date

Hey everyone - I am new to the boards here but wanted to say hello. I will be having surgery @ Kettering Hosiptal on 12/27 with New Life Surgery Center. They were such a giant help. I found out on the 5th of December that as of 1/1/06 my insurance wasnt covering WLS. They worked with Anthem to speed up the process and squeezed me in next Tuesday for surgery. I am really excited to start my new life. I saw a posting below calling surgery dates a persons rebirthday. I called it that the other day too Anyway - I hope everyone out there is doing well and losing lots. Kenn

Kenn, May God grant you a safe surgery and guide the surgeons hands. It is definitely a change in your life and one you will never regret. So glad you can get your surgery done before the insurance changes. I had RNY on 11-14-05 and down 36 pounds. Starting to feel so much better. Take care and God Bless. Colette

Hi Kenn, I had the DS by Dr. Rita Anderson on Halloween and I must say it was a very good experience overall at Kettering Medical Center. The nurses in the bariatric wing are great, and many have undergone WLS themselves, so they know exactly what we're going through and how to best care for us. I hope that your experience is as good as mine was. Valerie
