Thank you all so much for responding so quickly! You all have given me the encouragement I needed, even though I am a little impatient because I will have to wait two more months before even submitting the request to my insurance company! I hate waiting! Oh well, I have been this long! What's two more months, right?(It feels like forever to me!) Thanks again! Brittany

Hi Brittany, I am sorta new to the Ohio Boards...I like to lurk! Anyway, I worked very closely with Dr. C's team and my PCP till I had fullfilled all the requirements that Dr. C recommends and then I asked his insurance coordinator if we could submit to the insurance company and I was approved! But don't be disheartened, your time is just a moment away and you will be joining the rest of the team on the losing side soon!

Hello I just submitted my paperwork to Aetna on December 15, 2005. I have only completed the 3 month with Dietian and PCP. My doctor's assistant thinks Aetna will make me do the 6 months as they have been turning down all her patients so far. I have 10 years of documents. Two differenct PCP letters, a letter from my Nuerologis, and Asthma doctor...plus all the other stuff they require other than the full 6 months with PCP. I am prepared to be denied. I am not sure if I will write an appeal or just do 3 more months. I should know in 2-3 weeks what Aetna has to say. Perhaps someone will be in the Christmas mood and approve me? I can only hope right? Merry Christmas. Shelly

I really hope it works out for you Shelly. Hopefully the three month program is all you will need. Silly me, before I wrote the first posting I didn't even know about the three month program that they make you go through so now I have to wait 2 more months until they will submit it to my insurance. I was so disappointed when I found that out because I was hoping to have my surgery in Jan. Oh well, there's nothing I can do. I have my next appt. with my PCP and dietician on Jan. 9th and I'll make my third the first week of february so hopefully by the end of february or beginning of March I will be getting my surgery done. Keep me in your prayers and I will definitely keep you in mine! Thanks for responding! Brittany.
