I think my bottle says to take 2-4 before bedtime. I am only taking 2 right now, each night. I can't take Benefiber right now, but if I could, I would take the max dose of Colace each night and then have 3 drinks a day mixed with Benefiber (it's clear and tasteless - can't even tell it's there!!). It will take a day of 2, but things will start moving... and then slowly ease your way down to a lesser dose.
