newbie posting here

Hello! My name is Debbie Gring, I live in NW Ohio in Swanton. My friend Diane Butler has posted previously, but I have kind of lurked. My surgeon is Dr. Brian Lane at Wood Co. Hospital. (Center for Weight Loss Surgery). I will be having surgery on 12/12. While I am thrilled and surprised to have been approved so quickly and gotten a date before the end of the year, I wish Diane would be having surgery the same time as we had planned. I'll be having the RNY hopefully laparoscopically. I have been doing a lot of research and talking with people who have had the surgery previously. I thought about this years ago and did nothing about it. I guess this is my time now, I'm single again after a long term marriage ended last year. I am finally interested in taking care of ME. I have been obese for years and have hidden behind this fat in many ways, and I think I need to stop this behavior and live. I want to age gracefully and feeling much better then I do now with fewer health issues. I have a human kid and 3 furkids and one grand cat. My son lives with me sort of! he is 26 and very busy! I am owned by 2 adopted dogs and a cat that has been with me for 8 years! Oh yes, my son's cat thinks he rules also. I would welcome contact with anyone in the Toledo/Swanton area! Thanks!

Hi Debbie, Just wanted to take the opportunity to say hi and welcome aboard. Wow, Dec. 12 is just around the corner. I had surgery with Dr. Lane when he worked at the Barix Clinic in Yipsilanti. I dont know how I would of made it through it all if it wouldnt of been for these wonderful men and women.
