well i was finally released today from the hospital.surgery itself went good but my swallow test on thursday didnt go to good.they thought there was a leak but it turned out not to be,but my barium was moving fast enough out of pouch so they wouldnt let me drink anything till friday. then to day i started my boost and am doing good on it.just alittle pain but nothing to complain about.wednesday night my wife and i walked the floor with no problem then thursday night i had a real bad time.they took out my cathater and i just couldnt pee, but since i couldnt i guess it was all just building up and made my back hurt real bad to where even the pain medicine didnt do anything.i was also throwing up alot of muccus at the same time but when i started to pee i was alot better. rich w

Rich, I am so proud of you for taking this life changing step. You are gonna be so amazed at the changes in your body and mind over the course of the next months/years/life. Just listen to your pouch and your body. Eat when you can, drink drink and drink some more and move around as much as you can tolerate. But dont forget rest is majorly important to your recovery as well. If you feel like a nap, darn well take it. I am sorry I was so tough on you early, but I just wasnt sure you really wanted this. Thank you Rich for Proving the old lady wrong. LOL I am so HAPPY that things are going well for you. Big Hugs Laura 310/160/125 Newly revised goal.. Dr Mikami said it is highly achievable for my super fast metabolism.. I am one tickled pink Chickie!!
