Hungry

I am 10 days post op and I am HUNGRY! My stomach has been growling and everything. I am eating 1/2 cup per meal (x3/day) I am also drinking my water. I talked to my dr. and they just said that it might be because I am still in the cream soup stage. I am afraid that it will always be like this. oh, and the dr's office said they were suprised that I could eat 1/2 cup already, what's up with that?

I am not sure why but I was hungry soon after surgery like you are and then it went away, I thought it might be because my mind was not yet used to small portions. Good luck. Julie

My doctor and nutritionist recommended that I eat (drink) 6 times a day. I was able to do 1/2 cup 6 times including protein drinks, soups, pureed things. It might help to add meals. My nutritionist was very adimant about this. Good luck! Shellie

I was also told eat 6 times a day later they said i may not need to eat more than three. I also could eat 1/2 cup of soup but boy when you add more solid things the amount goes down. My doc said normal soup may pass through more quickly. Made sense to me. Tammy O Are you sure its hunger pangs and not just the rumbling of the stomach and intestines starting to work again mine made awful noises for awhile then subsided for the most part once in awhile i hear from them. lol
