Afraid and depressed

Well, I got the letter today. I have been denied by UHC because I have an exclusion on our policy. I sent all my health info, doctor reports and every thing they needed. I guess my life as a fat person is permanant. I can appeal but with an exclusion there really isn't any reason to. I hate insurance companies.

I am so sorry! I have been there even with UHC! I have had to postpone surgery now for a couple of years to save money up to do the self-pay options. DO NOT GIVE UP!! We didn't get this way overnight, and getting out of this mess isn't always simple or easy. Keep trying. Investigate changing insurances, purchasing an insurance rider that might cover WLS, paying local or in Mexico. You are worth it!

Rita I am so sorry. I know how I felt when I was denied (after all appeals) 3 years ago. It is just horrible. I am trying again right now. Give yourself a bit of time to get over the initial disappointment then look into your options. Have you considered legal action? What about your state's insurance department. There are options even with an exclusion. You just have to wait until you feel up to the challenge. Please don't give up. Diane
