Evil Gas...EVIL
Hello!!
I'm 4 1/2 months post-op and I thought the gas situation was just a temporary thing that happened right after surgery. I'm sitting here at work right now, surrounded by about 25-30 people, and I feel like I'm going to implode (if not explode!)
No, the idea of releasing it is not an option, as my post-surgery gas is lethal! It's absolutely evil!
I am sooo **incredibly** uncomfortable, at least my dinner hour is in eight minutes and I can go toot till my heart's content. But right now, it's been a rough rough rough afternoon.
To make matters worse, I can get in trouble if I log out too many times to run to the restroom.
Thanks for listening and not laughing.

Julie, I can completely sympathize. I have the worst gas and I am 9 months out. It has never gotten better, though I confess I am not good about taking the "desmelling" pills. I just forget to take them. My doctor's office told me to use Devrom, which you can order on line. They also gave me another name, but that company did not send the med, or let me know what was going on,.I used it some at first, but haven't really lately. I think it did help a little, but can't really tell you why I haven't kept taking it. Pill aversion? Anyway, you are not alone with this problem, and believe me it is a problem. My husband complains and I don't know what to do about it other than, the best air freshener I have found is at Cracker Barrel. I got this lemon square air freshener and it is great. They also have a lot of other fragrances and I am sure they are good too! Keep in touch. You are not alone with this problem. I guess it just goes with the territory!
Julie, I am sorry for your problem. My daughter and I had surgery earlier this year and she has the gas problem and I do not. I know from experiencing hers though that you are right, it is lethal!! She recently returned from an overnight trip with three friends. She said that one night she needed to let one go after everyone was asleep. As she was under heavy covers and everyone was asleep, she thought it would be safe, so she let it rip--silently! It was so bad, the smell alone woke up her roommates who thought, perhaps, she had pooped her pants.
I told her they will be telling that story for years to come!!
So, I can't help you but I empathize.
Hugs, Vicki
