Hi Angela, Nice to meet you and congrats on your success with your weight loss. This surgery is still the most amazing thing to me. I remember early into my research I was trying to decide whether I REALLY wanted to have the surgery. I kept thinking I didnt know if I could ever live that way the rest of my life. So originally I thought about the lap band.. So I could lose all my weight and have it removed and magically maintain the same weight and eat like a human again. DUH.. Was I ever kidding myself. I thought that I was going to have to sacrifice enjoying food and feel deprived. Now with this tool I can eat sensibly, still enjoy cooking and the taste of food. Yet be in control of the quanity of food I am taking in. And the best part is losing the weight and finding exercise an enjoyable part of your life. I know I can live this way in this new healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life. And the very best thing is that I will have a life.. A longer happier healthier life. Again, Welcome to our little group here. Love and hugs Laura 310/165/130 6 months post op.

Thanks Laura, and congrats to u too. U have done awesome. I know what u mean. I was nervous about surgery too. I wasn't nervous about wondering if I could do it, I was and am still very determined, but I had my moments where I was scared to death that it wouldn't work for me and I still can't believe I have lost this much so far. I can't tell by looking in the mirror at myself as much as I can tell by looking at old pics and new ones. I would love to see my friend from Dayton, she hasn't seen me in 3-4 years now and she knows I had surgery but I don't think she knows how different I look now. Her family is down here in Ky, (she married a truck driver like me, lol, but mine is retired now!) and I hope one day soon we can get together...I love seeing peoples reactions to me. Well, everyones but my moms, she keeps telling me how horrible I look. Leave it to mom to be blunt, lol. Well thanks for the welcome and I look forward to getting to know more wonderful people from here. Love and Hugs Angela
