Any "self-pay" banders here?

If you are self pay, how much have you spent after the surgery for upkeep? Even though I ended up not having the surgery at the very last moment, I am still interested in having it done, and am constantly researching it. How much is the "upper GI" that is needed to sometimes keep track of the band? Thanks

I am still pre-op until 12/8. The cost is about 14,000 and includes follow-up for the first year. I have been stalled for the last two years by insurance and the $$. Don't give up!!!

I was a self-pay and I haven't paid a cent since my surgery. Fills are included for a year and you shouldn't need an upper GI unless the doc suspects your band has slipped or you're having other problems. Good luck! Melissa
