Gastric stimulator? Has anyone heard of this procedure?

I was due to have the band on 9/23/05 but due to a change of heart (nothing to do at all with the surgeon-just sudden fear on follow-up, pre-surgery drugs and non-communication with dietition) I came back home unbanded. Let me emphasize, no complaints at all about my surgeon. My sister is an RN and recently attended a conference on Childhood obesity. The pediatrition at the conference is touting the "gastric stimulator" as the newest and most exciting surgery for adolescents and eventually for adults. He said it will be tested in the USA next year.
