Hey all, trying to come up with a way to have the surgery paid for. My insurance has that exclusion. I'm currently a travel RN and working in the Cincinnati area, and thinking of settling here permanently. Anyone in Cincinnati area know of a hospital or business who has insurance that will pay for either the RNY or lapband if you are an employee? I read some old posts about Home Depot. What about other businesses or any of the local hospitals? Linda

My mom works for Tri-Health and they pay 50% of the surgery if you are using an in network provider (Tri-Health doctors). Good luck. I am 8 days post-op and had the lap band surgery. I'm very happy with the results so far. I'm up and about and feeling great. Good luck, Monica Z

Hi, I'm thinking about the lapband as well. which hospitals are under the Tri-health system here locally? Anything to know about Trihealth's policy..such as 6 month doc. weight loss etc? Also, which surgeon did you use? I spoke with Tracy at the seminar today with Dr. Curry, and she mentioned Deaconess and Children's both had Humana insurance, which paid. I asked about Mercy and other hospitals such as Univ. of Cinc. but she didn't think their employee insurance would cover it. Thanks for all your help. Glad to hear you are doing good. Linda

I am pretty sure health alliance pays for it..I know folks employed by St. Luke had WLS surgery including lapband.. you can call over there and find out.

I worked for Cincinnati Bell and my RNY was paid for completely. (I only paid $250 out of pocket.) They fired me after the surgery-but I don't care, I got what I wanted!!! Rebecca R 254/152/145
