I am just wondering if anyone knows if it is safe to have a high colonic. I checked with my surgeon's office and got a vague answer. I would like to do a colon cleansing but worry that with the rerouted intestines that there might be some risks. I do know that the doctor who does them does provide an electrolite drink for afterwards. I am only 3 months out and also worry about whether things are really healed inside. If now isn't a good time then I would be happy to wait until they are. Dr. Curry, do you have any knowledge of this proceedure and if so, do you think it is safe for post-ops? Thanks, Shellie

Assuming a high colonic is just the mother of all enemas, it's not a problem. If they give you so much that it comes out the other end, that could be a problem! Dr. C
