Well I went to my PCP today and was weighed and by her scales I have only lost 4 lbs in the last 3 weeks. I guess I should still be happy that I am still losing weight but is this normal to lose so much and then only have a 4 lbs loss. I am getting about 65 grams of protein a day. about 100 oz of water a day. I am using the gazelle 30 min a day and walking and full of energy. So what am I doing wrong. Or is this my plateau? My doctor told me for every 10 -20 pounds you lose you go on a plateau. and your losing inches instead of weight. I would not worry about it. This is perfectly normal. Take Care Barb

Barb, You are awesome! That makes me feel better. And really I shouldn't even be complaining. I will be 2 months out on the 22nd and I have already lost almost 50 lbs so I know it is going to be OK just was surprised to see the scale only had moved 4 lbs and my clothes are still getting baggier. Rocquetta, Don't be sad! I wish I had lost as much as you...I had surgery about a week after you and have only lost 25lbs. I gained 29 at the hospital in water weight, so I am 54lbs. less than the day I left the hospital, but I only count the "real" weight I have lost. I eat 68-75g protein daily, exercise, measure my foods, do not cheat, etc. I too have been advised that it is normal to hit "stalls". So I am trying not to let it get to me. Almost everybody who emailed me said to just weigh in once a month, saying it's like just another diet despair and letting it into your head. I put up my scale for now and I am concentrating on inches lost instead! Lisa

I don't have a scale here because I know I would be obsessing everyday about it. That is why I look forward to seeing my PCP every month. But today was like before surgery when I would only see the scale go up and up and up. But I am feeling better now that I was able to share with you guys. You guys are wonderful. I am so glad I joined OH. I think I will measure myself in the morning and record in on my chart. Maybe I will see the difference there. Rocquetta 333/287/175

OH my this has happened to me too. I was scared to go to doc appt at my 4 wk check i hadnt lost a thing since my two week check. I figured he was gonna say i was doing something wrong. LOL this is our self doubt talking again. I had lost 35 lbs in two weeks. I was getting in all my protein and walking 2 miles 6 times a week. He said dont be surprised if you dont lose weight for a few more weeks, it happens then all of the sudden you will drop twenty lbs . So dont be discouraged . My weight is starting to move again thank goodness. Make sure you are measuring as i was losing inches even though the weight wasnt changing on scale. Tammy

Thanks Tammy. I did the measure thing and compared it to the last measure and I have lost a total of 39 inches in 2 months. So I am feeling better about myself. And I also upped my exercise to 1/2 hour on gazelle and a 1 mile walk everyday. Rocquetta

I stop losing dead in my tracks after losing 21 pounds since my surgery in August, but amazingly last week I was wearing a size 22 very loss and yesterday I was running late and picked up a size 20 and slid right into them with no problem. The body is an amazing thing. I do have a scale in my bathroom that I have to get rid of. I am scared I got this major sugery and nothing is happening, but it is happening in inches. I get sad sometimes too, the mind can play tricks on you in a big way so lets try to encourage each other and know, this too shall pass.
