Advice Preop?
Hi guys,
I am just two months away (12/5) from lap RNY and getting really nervous. Any pre-op advice from those veterans out there would be helpful.
And I have a couple bizarre questions....
first, contact lens wearers: how soon could you put your lens back in? My glasses make me dizzy and I want to do laps arounds the nurses' station ASAP.
Two, did anyone have strange dreams before the surgery? I've had a couple---one about waking up with my stomach on the outside and being told by Dr. Curry that was the way it was suppose to be, didn't I read that part of the information?

Well, I didn't have dreams about my stomach on the outside but I did dream that I was full of air and flew around the room like a balloon with the air let out. Dr. C. did my surgery and he is great. He is kind and understanding and a damn good surgeon. I did not have any problems with the surgery things went pretty smoothly. I don't know anything about contacts but I would think they could be put in when you were awake enough to take walks. I am almost 3 months post-op and have lost 51 pounds. I go to Curves for exercise and enjoy that very much. The best advice I can give is make sure you get the protein and vitamins you need and then the fluids. I wish you an uneventful surgery and a speedy and pain-free recovery. Good Luck as you begin this life changing journey, you have lots of support on this site.
