I am looking for a new PCP in the Dayton area. Mine is not WLS friendly and has pretty much said that if I have the surgery, she will not feel comfortable treating me. I need to find a new one who is WLS friendly. I would really appreciate your input. I wish there was a section on this site to talk about WLS friendly PCPs. Jenn open, proximal RNY 10/24/05

Are you freaking serious?? You should have told her ummm I don't feel comfortable seeing a doc who would rather see me heavy and with health problems related to being heavy. Hope someone can point you in the right direction!

I see Dr. Setser. He is an internist and seems to care a lot. I'm a new patient of his, because my previous Internist took over the diabetic program at MVH. Since I wasn't diabetic, I couldn't stay his patient. He was great. Good luck, Laura

I was going to Terez Metry when I decided to have surgery and she recommended it. I had already been thinking about it, but she was a good support. Unfortuneately I had to change primary care doc because of insurance and I no longer go to her, but wish I did. She has since moved to an office on Wayne Ave. I think it is called Belmont physicians. Hope that helps. chris

Yes, unfortunately, she is the type doctor who has NEVER ONCE mentioned my weight...nevermind that at 5'4" I weigh 260+ pounds. When I comment on my weight, she calmly handed me a 1200 cal diet and left the room. I will check out the dr.s you have suggested. Thank you very much. Jenn open, proximal RNY 10/24/05...17 days
