I had my open surgery at the end of March. In June I came down with the shingles and could not exercise and was in so much pain. I still have some pain from those however went to my primary doctor to find I have shingles again on my hip and again the pain is so bad I can't do alot except sit here or lay in bed. I have only lost 59lbs in six months but did not follow my diet as I should have. Sorry for all the boo hoo, but just needed to vent and ask if anyone has any advice on what my day should be when eatting, morning and lunch and dinner,,,,,,,any snack? Some have helped, but I need more support. Thankyou so much for reading this..........I hope you all will have luck and be safe, and GOD BLESS....................MaryHaller from ohio

Mary, I can't help with your diet as I had the labband and I think you had RNY. I just wanted to wish you well. I know that shingles are extremely painful. I hope you get this licked soon. Cathy P

Considering all that has gone on you are doing really well. I would start with a protein shake in the morning sensible lunch protein shake sensible dinner protein shake I have a hard time exercising due to lymphadema so I know where you are coming from. Take care and keep up the good work.

Mary, I am so sorry you are struggling. I think if you can add more protein to your diet and drink more water you will do better. I think your weight loss is great considering you being unable to exercise. I know my scales would be moving a lot slower if I wasnt swimming and walking. There are many exercises that can be adapted to sitting or even laying. Those latex exercise bands are great and many of the exercises are designed to be done sitting down. If anything it will increase your flexibility and mobility, and burn some calories to boot!! If you can do 5 mins here and there it might really help. I know the shingles are painful, but maybe you could make sure you take some tylenol before working out a bit so you wont be in as much pain. The best of luck to you and DONT GIVE UP!!!!! 59 pounds is a big accomplishment in a 6 month period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs Laura If you ever need to talk look me up on yahoo messenger or aol messenger i_am_laura43723 ( yahoo) lauralove41 (aol)
