My mom(Barb Deering) had successful surgery!!!!!!
Hello everyone. My name is Carla and my mom Barb Ann Deering had her surgery at 10:30am. Surgery lasted 1 1/2 hours and recovery was for 3 hours. When surgery was over Dr. Bruce came into the waiting room and spoke to my sister, aunt, and I and said the surgery was very smooth and no complications arose. No need for ICU!!!! When mom was taken upstairs to her room she was very sore and said the famous words "what have i done to myself?". She basically said she felt horrible and just wanted to be left alone, then apologized and prayed. We left her alone to rest and her husband and father are visiting tonight. Mom speaks very highly of her friends in this support group and she made sure to remind me this morning that as soon as i get home to let you all know how she was and that she made it!!! FINALLY!!!!!
Thanks so much for all the support u all have provided to her, and please pray for her speedy recovery....here's to the future...it's all up hill from here!!!!!
Oh yeah...mom will be home Saturday and I'm sure she'll be in touch.
Thanks again!
Carla
Carla,
Thank you for your update. Your mama is very much Loved here on the board. She always has such a positive sweet tone to her messages. I cant wait to meet her face to face some day and give her a big squeeze. I am so thankful that she made it through so well. Please let her know that Laura sends her lots of Love and hugs and will keep praying for her speedy recovery and for that weight to start melting off of her. I bet she is so relieved the surgery is over, she was a bundle of nerves this week.
And dont take it personally if she just wants time alone. The meds make you feel so spacy and you just kind of want to be alone in your misery. But each day she is going to be feeling a little better..
I am just tickled it went so well.
Hugs,
Laura
