michelle, we are all here for you and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers tommorow. To keep my pre surgery jitters under control, I just kept myself busy the day before. And kept making myself repeat positive cleansing thoughts. You are going to making a life change that is going to knock your socks off.. And I mean that in a good way. Just be prepared to be a little blue in the first two weeks as your hormones adjust and you mourn for your old best friend, Mr Food. I had to figure out what to do with myself on all those occasions that I would turn to food. When I was bored, sad, happy, when my favorite show was on, when I was lonely. So now you have to find new outlets for those emotions. I found a journal to be very helpfull. Starting one today would be great, take some before pics and get all your measurements. Put them in your journal and you will be glad you took the time to do this as you go through your weight loss journey. I was so anxious and depressed the first few weeks I ended up asking my Dr for some medication to get me through that time. And the people here were so supportive and rallied around me to pull me through, and I did make it. And 4 1/2 months later I am down 126 pounds. I have had very few complications, I got very lucky and sure dont take that for granted. I Thank God every day for helping me through this. But so far it has been the best thing I have ever done for myself. I think thats what makes this time so different. It is totally for ME, done by Me, controlled by me. I cant cheat, I wont cheat, because I want to do everything right and use this tool as it has been intended. Of course my kids are reaping the benefit of a new lighter healthier mom. I am not ashamed to go places now and I take part in life, instead of sitting on the sidelines. I did that for so many years, I feel like I am having to learn everything all over again. How to walk like a thinner person, how to make my brain catch up with my new body. My mind keeps telling me I cant fit in the booth or fit through a narrow space and then when I do, I breathe a sigh of relief and scream YAHOOOOO!!!! We will see you on the losing side soon!! I know you are going to do just fine tommorow and know we are all here for you!!! Keep in touch and let us know how you are feeling Love and hugs Laura

The depression was something that really caught me off gaurd. Here I was finally having the surgery I had waited for so long for, and beginning to lose weight already, and I was sad and miserable. I was so mad at myself, until I found out it was a pretty normal occurance. So girls dont be ashamed if it happens and dont be afraid to ask for help!! And believe me it does pass and your energy level comes back a little a day at a time. I think the more you move and get some fresh air the faster you heal and start feeling your "New" normal. The best of luck to both of you girls !!! Love and hugs, Laura

Hi Michelle, I know you had your surgery today and you probably won't see this for a couple of days. Hope everything went smoothly and you had no complications with very little pain. The good thing is all the pain meds you get! I got your email you sent me, but when I tried to respond, AOL said your account was no longer active. Please let me know what your new email address is. Wishing you a speedy recovery, take care! Susan Gilbert
