Personal Question I need to Have Advise
When I am in the hospital. What is the best and easist way to wipe my Behind. When I had my heart attack I was really sore my daughter did it. Bless her heart. I could not bend over I was to sore. I know I am in for the same problem. I have heard of some thongs or spoons or something along with rubber bands and flushable wipes. Please give me some advise on this. 9 days to go.
Thanks to all and have a great day
Barb

Hi Barb,
Not everyone has that problem and you may not. Before my surgery I had read posts from people who used tongs, but even at 330 pounds, I didn't have that issue after my surgery. Maybe I was lucky but I say don't worry about it unless it happens. I had bought a box of baby wipes just in case. I never opened the box and finally gave them to my niece who used them for her little one. I think we all drive ourselves crazy with these kind of worries and more often then not, they never happen. Just keep thinking about how much better you are going to look and feel.
Happy Happy ME!

Ann,
At 310 post op and having the shortest arms in the world I was still able to take care of business. I suggust you click your pain meds before you attempt to get out of bed, so the stretching wont hurt you. And the hospital gave me these super size moist hiney wipes. It was a little tough those first couple of days, but doable. And Ann if you need some help ask the nurses, I am sure it wont be the first time they have ever been asked to assist someone with that problem
You are going to do just fine!!!
Big Hugs

Ann,
At the hospital they gave me big moist wipes and some tongs. The nurses also helped out. It's different at each hospital. I even had to use my tongs the first few days home since my surgery was open and not lap. Good luck. If you need some tongs for peace of mind, Dr. Simpson's book suggested Martha Stewart's salad tongs from K-Mart. Good luck! Luann
Thank you for all for your help. My arms are pretty long. I think I will be able to get there. When I had my heart attack I was so sore and hooked up to so many wires and IV and I was so weak. I thought I would pass out. I will bring some salad thongs for IF i cant.I have read alot of profiles where they say you will need those. I would say If I was larger I would.
Thanks
Barb
Hi Barb! I never tried them but there is a website for this type of thing. They are called bottom buddies. I think the website is www.bottombuddies.com
Good luck!

Dont think I need to go that far, Everyone has told me I will be able to do it myself. I am bring disposible wipes and that is it. I almost died at the hospital when my daughter did that. I was light headed and weak and sore. She helped Mama get cleaned up. Whata daughter???? I am a lucky woman.
Take Care.
