Dr Curry's Funded WLS?

Someone mentioned the possibility of this in my other post, does anyone know more about this? Is this program only for low income or for anyone that insurance doesn't cover the procedure? I live about 2 hours away in Columbus, OH. Has anyone here had Dr Curry do their surgery? He does sound like a good doctor. I suppose there are a ton of people that will apply, but my odds are probably better with this option than any other at this point. BTW, is Dr Curry actually "Dr C" on the boards?

From what I understand, it is based on those who are most in need of the surgery, and for those who do not have an insurance carrier who will cover the procedure, but I'm sure Dr. Curry's office can fill you in on all the requirements. Dr. Curry is also "Dr. C", and I feel honored that he is doing my surgery on 9-19. (self-pay) He has quite a following on here, and he is so quick to help ease concerns and answer questions here for everyone--not only for his patients. His website is newyourealyou.com.

Hi Susan I didn't know if you meant anyone from here as in Obesity Help, or here as in Columbus. I guess it doesn't matter, I'm yes on both accounts. I don't have to go to Cincy often, but I look forward to the visits. I wouldn't mind ging every month. I won't like it when I only go yearly. I absolutely love Dr. C and his entire staff. And as above, am honored to be one of his patients. For the program, I know they review applications as they get them, but that's about it. Dr. C would be happy to answer any of your questions. If you need anything (except for the 19.5K to pay for your surgery) just let me know. Sharyn -52

Hey Cindy- I'm doing well. I still wish we could get a 2-for-1 on the arms. I can't believe how much skin I have already. I got on the cale this morning. I guess I'm about 10 weeks out now and I have unofficially lost 57. This puts me below 250 for the 1st time in, well, I don't even know how long. But, I'm sure it's at least 9 years. Take care of yourself. Hope to see you soon- Sharyn

I know Dr. Curry, He did my surgery. He is a wonderful surgeon and I recommend him to anyone wanted WLS rather RNY or Lap Band. I, myself have been successful and I personnally know some of his other patients who are successful too. I have lost 135 lbs. The first few months are rough, but worth it! Dr. C. is what you see is what you get. He has personality plus. He knows what he is doing and is committed to Bariatrics. Call Deaconness Hospital or go to his site: www.imnotfatanymore.com and check him out. Vera Greenville, OH
