How long should a person wait after RNY to have a panni?
The reason I am asking is I have lost 100+ and my weight has shifted to the point it is causing bad back pain and the normal skin problems with excess skin.My PCP came right out and mentioned it to me, but I told him I thought it was a bit too soon, since I am about 80 lbs from my goal.
But then again, the back pain is almost worse at times than the post op.
Just looking for some guidance.
Thanks
SHerri
The goal is until your weight stabilizes. Usually at 14 to 18 months. The ultimate weight loss is variable. 100 pounds is usually the insurance criteria not the final end result. Complete the 14 months and then it will be a more definitive result.

Sherri:
I'm not sure if my first post went through so I apologize if this is a second post. 100 pounds what insurance companies set as a minimum to qualify for the panni besides skin conditions related to it. 14-18 months is the time from you should wait. This is usually when your weight loss will slow and probably stabilize and you will also maximize the amount of skin removal and end result. Goal weights are not perfect therefore going just by that alone can be difficult.
