This is great news. There is always a reason for everything. Take a pillow of your own and I took a comforter,a fan and your personal items. I am having my arms done on the 19th. Good luck and keep us posted. Love,Cindy

Barb That is great! Now take a deep breath and hang on tight! Relax, get things ready. One thing I really liked having at home was a mug warmer, or candle warmer. You have to eat so slow, that your food tends to get cold before you can eat it. Just use a small ceramic bowl and put the warmer on low, and it will keep your food at a nice eating temp until you are done with it. The day will be here before you know it... Mary

For at home....sugarfree popsickles, protein powder, vitamins, sugarfree juices, broth, sugarfree jello. Oh a chapstick will be your best friend for a while. I'm sure others will remember things that I have forgotten and will let you know. At the hospital, a friend brought me a pillow and I took a stuffed animal in case it hurt to cough to hold against my belly. You'll be fine. Now just relax and think of all of the good this new life is going to bring to you!

Ann, I am 2 weeks out and the warmer is a great idea. I also had protein powder, s/f Popsicles, s/f pudding, s/f jello, beef broth, CIB, skim milk, and chicken broth. I was nervous also before surgery. Pray, put it in God's hands and he will guide the surgeons hands for a uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery. I want to share with you that within one week after surgery I felt wonderful. I, at 2 weeks out, still feel great. I am down almost 40 lbs I get all my protein and water in and still can't believe that I had major surgery just 2 weeks ago. Now don't get me wrong. There have been some bad days and I still am tired out very fast but, I wouldn't change anything. Rocquetta

Hi, Hang in there it will be easier than you think. If you can try out some protein powders before surgery you can get samples from bariatriceating.com I like the Matrix 5.0 chocolate and vanilla, the Nectar Fuzzy Navel & Lemonade is pretty good too. But everyone's taste is different, that is why it is good to get a sample pack to try. Another good product available on the net is Profect the Fresh Citrus flavor is the best it has 25 grams of protein in just 2.7 ounces so it is a quick way to get some protein in. It is available on Profect.com. I use the sub-lingual B-12 once a week but your Dr. or nutritionist would be the best to advise you on vitamins. Sugar-free popsicles are life savers to me, easy to eat and refreshing and count as 1/4 cup of you fluid intake. Remember you are not alone on this life changing journey. You will find it is the best thing you have ever done for youself and your health. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I will be welcoming you to the losing side. Hugs Judi
