Can anyone tell me what the difference is between RNY Proximal and RNY Distal? I wasn't aware that there were different kinds.

Hi J G. it's all in the amount of small intestine that is bypassed. Proximal meaning closer(to the pouch) and distal being further. The longer the limb (bypassed portion) the more malabsorption you have. Hope this helps. Sharyn -52
