Has anyone tried the Profect protein that is advertised here on this site or power protein cookies advertised on Bariatriceating.com? I am having trouble getting in enough protein. Everything is made with milk and is sooo sweet. Also noticed some people on line saying they take sublingual B12 once a day. I have been taking it once a week. Also, have you ever heard to not take Calcium at the same time as your vitamins. Help -- I am so confused!

Yep, been using the Profect for over 5 months now, good stuff it's a little pricey, but the benefits from it far outweigh the cost for sure. It's so convient also to carry, premixed, easy to "get down", not thick, chalky or gritty like so many other protein supplements. I this stuff, saved me from protein meltdown back when. Hey and I figured it this way, even if I didn't like it (but I DO) I could gag down 2.7 oz's easier than 8 oz's of something vile. I use other protein sup's also, GNC's On Any Whey mixes well with almost everything and flavorless. I use SciTec's Vanilla White Chocolate, Vanilla Pineapple and Vanilla Very Berry also and I mix these with WATER only. Good stuff also. I ordered last from bodybuilding.com as I got a better price than from Susan Maria's site. I haven't used the Power protein cookies, so I can't answer on that one for you. All I know is when I take too much B-12 I loose sleep, I've tested this theory for a few weeks now. I suppose it depends on the dosage if you should do 1 a day or 3 a week. My limit is 3 a wk @1000 mcg's, any more than that and I'm up at night. I've been told a person can't take too much of it as the body flushes it out. Apparently in my case - not so. on me. DO NOT take your calcium at the same time as your multi-vit's, space them out about 3 hours and do not do them all (like 1200 of calcium or all at once) or they'll just pass through our system and won't be of any benefit to us. I take a calcium with my breakfast, then about now I take my 1st multi, then take calcium about 4 again, multi @7 and another calcium at bed. hugs

Vicki got me hooked on Profect. I try to drink 2 a day. Even though I hate it ,it is so easy to get down . I give myself a shot once a month of B-12. I take my calcium at dinner time and my multi in the morning. Never together for sure. Dont be confused ,just ask. We are always here,Love, Cindy

Calcium should not be taken with iron which is in the multi-vits (or should be) because the iron interferes with the calcium absorption. As far as B12, I take it in pill form daily. I have not tried the protein supplements you mentioned. Are you not able to eat meat, poultry, fish or eggs or cheese? You may not need as much protein as you think. I rarely use supplements, ie protein drinks etc, and just got the results of my 6 month lab work and my protein level was great. How far out are you from surgery? Hope that helps. chris
