Has anyone taken Reglan ??
My doctor just put me on Reglan today. It is supposed to help increases the contractions of the stomach and small intestine, helping the passage of food. I have been having a miserable time of things.
Twice I have eating things I shouldn't have and had a blockage and been unable to eat or drink for a couple days. Before this happened I started to notice that I had been able to eat less and less. I was up to 1/2 cup of soft foods but had gone down to only 1/4 cup and that was a struggle. This last Friday I got something stuck and threw up a couple times Friday and then everything I tried to get in on Saturday had to come back up - even water and popsicles. Then Sunday was a little better and I was able to get a little fluid in but probably only 15 oz or so. I called the doctor on Monday and she called in the Reglan for me. I ate about 4 bites of food yesterday and nothing yet today. I was able to get in 10 oz of Isopure today and a little water. I just feel nassaus now and my actual stomach hurts. She wants me to try it but she also scheduled a scope just in case this doesn't work quickly or at all.
Does anyone have any similar experiences?
Thanks,
Shellie
Oh yea I can relate. I was having a terrible time getting foods and liquids in and was sick to my stomach all of the time. I had a scope done and the doctor discovered an ulcer. Now I take carafate and nexium and things are getting better. I'm sticking to a diet of soups and soft foods for a while per my doctor's advice and I feel so much better. Good luck to you.
Hi Shellie,
Yes, I took Reglan(I went on it in June)...I was having nausea etc. It has made all the difference for me. I did not have to have the scope procedure and now I only take it every now and then. For me it worked right away...I had an appointment for a scope 'thing" but was
able to cancel it!
Good luck!
