I'm Home!!!

It takes alot of time. Just remember,one day at a time. You will feel better everyday. There will be ups and downs with your emotions, but you will get through it I promise. You will feel normal again. It takes a long time to get to know your new pouch but you will. Its like being a new baby again. The pain will ease too. Believe it or not,you will wake up and it will be gone. Call your doc and see if you can get a sleeping aid like ambien. It will give you a good night which will help. The constipation problem is definately a large part of this surgury. Believe me I know lol. Good luck and keep posting and we will help you get through this trying time, Love, Cindy

Cindy, Thank you for your encouraging words. I have a little journal that the dietitian gave me before I left and that seems to help a lot also. Since I get so tired it is easier to just write what I can when I can and then give it to the doctor every visit. I am surprised that they haven't changed there number yet. As much calling and questions that I have. But they are always so nice. My only complaint today is I feel like I have to burp all the time. I am not sure if I am swallowing air or what. Oh yeah and I can't tell if I am hungry or sore but I still eat my 3 meals and sometimes a snack. Only 2 oz but better than nothing is what the nurse said and I am always with a water bottle so that it a good thing. Well I am about to go walk for a little bit. Rocquetta

It sounds like you are doing great Rocquetta !!!! The more you move the better off you are. It helps with the gas and bowel situation. I had never been constipated in my life until I had the surgery and now I have to take a stool softner every now and again. I wouldnt worry about the burping, its pretty normal and its better to have that air out of you than making your pouch blow up with air. You are going to be a great sucess story I can tell!!!!!!
