Meeting people at the OH conference...

Hi everyone, I am still in the research stage. And #1 fan of my Aunt Cathy Gabbard (-160lbs) that had RNY Nov 2004. So I have learned alot about Wls and the people on this board. I have watched many of you blossom into the "New You". I was looking forward to the conference. Mainly to meet and see the members on this board. I guess I missed my opportunity to do that not attending the Montgomery Inn dinner or Kings Island. (We) I arrived late in the afternoon to the conference. Due to other commitments. And missed out on what I wanted to see and do most. I never received information when Dr Curry & Erin were going to talk about Lap bands. It was not on the internet schedule.It was in the AM session... bummer I did see familar faces... Melissa B, Jaimee, Cathy P., Vicki, Mary just to mention a few. But at that time of day the mood was odd. Everyone seemed talked out or tired. And none of you would know me - I do not have a posted photo. So now I am sad That I did not take the step or time to come up to you. To meet you in person... I hope to make my decision soon about WLS or not. And maybe the next time there is a local event/meeting or get together I won*t be so sly. ... But I want to say How proud I am ;"Especially of my Aunt CATHY GABBARD" and others on this OHIO board. I felt such joy as each of you stood up when they announced the weightloss*s.I Have a good idea what this journey has been like for alot of you. Tasha! I wish you would have said hello!! I even said to Cathy P. "Tasha is here somewhere, I wish I knew what she looked like so I could say hi." Aww, now I am bummed. Hi Melissa B.....Of course I am partial to my niece, but all you have to do is look for a ray of sunshine and a sparkle in her beautiful eyes and you would have known her! I think that would be a great idea for the 2 of you to meet sometime for lunch or dinner? She's very curious about the lapband and I don't think she got enough information about it at the conference since we had a very important soccer game to attend for her daughter, and didn't get there until the afternoon. Course I could always email you her picture! Then again...she might get peeved at her old Aunt Cathy for doing that! But take my word for it, she's beautiful!

Tasha. I am sorry that I didnt get to meet you , and many others as well. There just isnt enough time to do all that you want to do at one of those conferences. I wish we all could of stood and said our name one by one, but that would of taken some time I suppose. Oh well, next time wear a Big Tag and make yourself known.. I missed out on missing Cindy H, and am kicking myself in the hiney for that. But we must of been heading in separate directions, and then she left early because she didnt feel well. Maybe we will have to plan a Get together just to socialize mid state. Now that I have met so many incredible people, I want more time with them. Hugs, Laura
