40 BMI here....question for you all

Okay, I am currently waiting for my insurance company to approve my surgery. I do not have any comorbidites but I am 40 BMI. Are there any people out there that are in the low 40's BMI who were approved for WLS without comorbidites??? I am getting nervous.

Hi JG I had a BMI of 44 w/no co morbidities, I also have Aetna as my insurance, I'm not sure what you have but good luck on your approval!! Tabitha

Lap Band on 06/27/05

Most insurances will approve a BMI of 40 without co-morbs. I had a BMI of 40 and they would have covered RNY, but they denied me for the LapBand being "investigational".
