Anthem Blue Access
You need to start a supervised diet up asap. I waited on my insurance and wasted 2 months before I knew I needed that. Most companys now want the supervised diet. I am not familiar with the anthem. You need to look at the insurance board at the top of this page, To see other stories. Dont ever give up your hopes in having this. It can be done. If your husband is owner of the company I dont now see where your other testing would matter. But I really dont know/
Best wishes and good luck.

I really depends more on the coverage that your employer chose for coverage rather than the insurance itself. There are many different coverages of BCBS. I have BCBS of SC and they do not cover it at all so you need to read your insurance policy carefully and that will give you some insight. My daughter has BCBS and hers went right through without a hitch so you see it depends on your coverage plan from the employer.
Best of luck to you but it does not hurt to get a jump on the documented diet just in case.

I had anthem blue access and they did not require a supervised diet. I had the evals by dietitian and psych, but all went very easily and I was approved for RNY on first letter-I tried lap band first and that was denied as experimental. I did have several co-morbidities, but again, it was not a difficult process for me-doctors office did everything. I felt like they paid well also, but only for the surgery things-not if it was listed as a diagnosis of obesity. (Such as for lab work or x-ray etc.) Hope that helps. Oh, one more thing, I actually went to an out of network doc and they still paid very well. chris-feel free to email me if you have any other specific questions.
