A question about supplements

I have surgery in 2 weeks and I am kind of concerned about the protein supplements. Does anyone have suggestions about the best ones to use? I am not sure I would be able to tolerate something that is not palatable. Please help. Thanks. Linda

Linda, I love Nectar protein mixes. The Roadside Lemonade is great...I mix it with Crystal Light lemonade. Also strawberry kiwi is good....fuzzy navel....and Crystal sky. I am not a fan of the chocolate types of protein but did break down and get some designer whey protein in chocolate and it is pretty good. None of the ones above are the least *****alky! Good luck with your surgery! I will pray for an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery! Sue

Linda I like the Profect, it is made by Protica. They have an ad banner on this site. The red and blue are my favorites. It has 25 grams of protein in only 2.7 ounces! So even if you are not wild about it, you only have about 3 slurps and it is gone. Check it out. It comes ready to drink and in a nice little "to go" vial. I also use Any Whey to make shakes with if I need something a little different. I use the DaVinci Sugar Free syrups to flavor them with..mmmm...good. Also, I found that everything tastes so different after surgery. So I wouldn't buy too much of any one thing just yet...maybe some sample packs. Good luck on your journey! Mary

Cindy, Do you save your empty vials? I do, crochet hooks fit in them just perfectly and so do quarters! You can fill them with colored water and use them in the pool as dive sticks for the little ones. I have sisters and nieces that do a lot of beadwork and I have passed them out to them. I will find some kind of crafty use for them. My husband is going to use them for small components. Are you feeling any better? Think you are going to make it to dinner Friday night and to the conference? You have been looking forward to this for weeks now, I hope you are feeling better! Mary

Unjury is what I used as a new postop. It had the best taste, imho - but it's kind of expensive long term. You can order samples, I highly recommend it. That way you can just test your tastes after the surgery. Also, I saw Designer Whey at Meijer's for about 8-9 bucks a can, which is rather inexpensive. I use the French Vanilla and mix it with Carb Conscious Carnation Instant Breakfast or add some sugar-free Davinci's syrups. I think the best way to determine which direction to go is to decide if you are more of a fruity person or an ice cream type person. I can't stand any of the fruit types, Roadside Lemonade, Whey Fruity etc, the thought makes me wanna I tolerate the creamy type drinks very well. I hope that helps. -Anne 375/238/170
