The lap was very important for me because of my poor healing in the past. After my Total Hysterectomy in Feb 2003 I got a terrible staph infection and after my 57 staples were removed I had a complete dehiss. I opened from top to bottom and even my inside stitches opened. My Dr couldnt restaple me with so much infection. So every day for 6 months home health care nurses came out and drained my infection and packed my wound. Dr Mikami promised me if he could do it by lap he would give it his best effort. And he did, God Love him. I was healed within just a few days. But I think I was in much better health after this surgery than the hysterectomy. I was so anemic from bleeding for months and months straight. I started taking lots of vitamins prior to surgery. Vitamin E, Geritol, and a multivitamin. You might ask your Dr if he thinks doing the same things with the vitties might assure a better healing time for you as well. Hugs Laura
