Anyone out there with BCBS of Illinois?

Hi, I found this site a few months ago, and have been reading profiles every chance I get. You are all very inspirational. I went to a seminar that was given at a local hospital. It was all very interesting and exciting, until they started answering ?? about insurance. The RN giving the seminar said that BCBS of Illinois is the worst for requirements for approval. That figures. They want a physician supervised diet for 12 months before they will even consider approval! I felt like someone knocked the wind out of me! I left there very upset. I have not made my consult appt. yet with the bariatric surgeon, I'm afraid to get my hopes up. I would appreciate any feedback from people who have had to deal with BCBS of Illinois. Linda, Read my profile and see if it helps. I did have a year of a supervised diet subbmitted. If your co-morbidities are there just try to get it approved. I'll help in any way I can. Luann
