Pain??? Hernia???

From time to time I experience this pain on my right side, just about an inch from my open RNY incision. It's sort of a burning, pinching type pain. It is about 4 inches down from my right breast. I woke up with it hurting this a.m. and I just now noticed that there is a pea-sized knot there, under the skin, that really hurts when I touch it.... could this be a hernia??? Am I trying to do too much too soon??? I am in my 9th week since surgery, and I walk everyday and go the the YMCA about 3 times per week.... where, I walk a mile on their track, go about 20 minutes on the elyptical machine and recently started adding the weight circuit (although, not straining myself on this). Should I be worried about this??? Thanks, Karen

well this is something I"m asking Dr C about when I see him next week too. Only my whole tummy bulges when I do crunches and twist. Pinches and like pokes me on my left side.. I had so many holes in me, 6 from the Lap RNY, 1 from the splenectomy, 2 c - sections 1 hystertomy.. I am not worried about it all that much YET! If it get's to hurting too bad then see your Dr.

Thanks... of course, the pain is worse for me right now, because I had to find that little lump and aggravate it by poking at it!!!! Go figure!!! If it continues tomorrow, I'll try giving my doc a call. Thanks again! Karen
