OK Help me out please! Am I dying?
Luann,
Don't worry you aren't alone! I am 2 months out and am still quite gassy! It will ease up! My husband told me that he married me for better or worse...but how much worse was it going to get?! Pretty funny.....NOT! I am not as gassy as right after surgery but I do like the open spaces...if you get what I mean.
If you are drinking any milk products that could cause gas. My doc told me that even if you weren't lactose intolerant before surgery you may become so. Also...the problem for me was the liquid adult tylenol. I still can't take it because it gives me the runs!
I hope every thing else is going smoothly for you!

darlin' nobody ever died of gas that I know of! It's just the gas from surgery leaving your body - everyone's different on how long it takes. At least it's leaving your body - after my youngest was born I thought I was birthing another but like an Alien, the gas pains hurt sooooo bad!
You can sleep in you own bed now, just use a lot of pillows to prop yourself up. Being an Open surgery though, it might make it pretty hard to get up outta bed for a bit, depends on your healing.
Welcome to the loosers bench!

Thanks everyone! My two teenagers think I look like a dog trying to s%#t! I hope it gets better so I don't embarass them too much! My DH thinks it's painful, and most of the time it is. I'm gonna try to
tonight in my own bed. It's so uncomfortable in the recline. My bum gets sore and I can't move much.. Wish me luck.

I never slept in a chair. When I got home from the hospital I got right in my bed. I did have 11 pillows though. One under each part of my body. I was uncomfortable for about a week but the Ambien worked so well. I wish I still had it because I could really get a good rest and now I sleep around 4 hrs. Good luck and just take one day at a time. I cant believe mine is 13 months ago. Time sure flies. Cindy
Hi Luann - It's nice to se you posting again! I am now 13 days post op. I am not so gassy but almost wish I were because I am so bloated! My stomach is bigger now than pre-op! I hope it goes down soon! Now sleeping is another story! As you can see I am not doing it now (3am). I can sleep in my own bed but still have some breathing issues especially if I end up sliding down flat. But my biggest issues is just being uncomfortable. My legs ache/kind of a numbing feeling and then I just can't get comfortable.
How is the diet going? Hang in there!
