a couple more questions
As I said, I had my surgery on July 19th. I am doing very well, healing well, etc. I am in the pureed stage of the diet and i have to admit, its getting VERY hard. At first I didn't want to eat but now, after so much soup, oatmeal, and runny mashed potatoes; it is getting to be a struggle. I still have at LEAST 10 more days of this, if not more.
Any suggestions??
Also, when is it possible to have a drink of alcohol? I certainly don't want to ru**** My husband's b-day is the 22nd of this month and I would like to have a sip of a margarita. Is it way too soon?
Hi Jenn, I'm not the most experienced, but I'll put my 1 1/2 cents in anyway. Don't tell my doc, but I find a sip never hurts, I drink communion wine on Sundays. However, I have not gone further than that. At the same time, my pouch doesn't always enjoy it - it will grumble at me then settle down. During the pureed phase, I enjoyed blended chicken or fish with light miracle whip in it - so did my son who is enjoying finishing off all of my leftovers. But, I know how you feel and I would often stick more towards fluids. Baby food bananas are great though.
Good Luck!

Jenn, I think the best thing to do is ask Dr. Curry the question on alcohol..
not only will the alcohol effect you differently after surgery but there is sugar in the mixes. you may not enjoy the evening after you drink something like that..
Have fun ..maybe i will see you at the event, you live very close to me!
I've found that marguritas are not good for me. I think its the tequila. I am, however, a martini drinker, and I have one every couple of weeks. I have them water it down so its half vodka, half water and some olive juice. You will find out that you can get really smashed on one ****tail...talk about a cheap date!!!
