Wow, I am a marketing professional and I had no idea that "helping others out of kindness - even those who are NOT your patients" could be construed as marketing. Perhaps I should change my job description!

I was a self pay patient too and I was hooked up with the wish center for financing but when I researched the hospitals and surgeons, I found I could use the same finance company that I was going to at the wish center and picked my own surgeon and hospital. It was soooooo much cheaper. I used Dr. Clarey and Southview hospital. Just FYI research!!!! Good Luck

I was disappointed at the Wish center. They wouldn't answer most of my questions until I sat through their "weight loss" seminar, which was the most boring I had ever witnessed. I already have a lap band and need a repair, so this was infuriating to sit through the long video type presentation when I've already had WLS and could have given better info myself!. When I met Dr. Schofield (who arrived an hour late) at the seminar back in March 05 or beg of April she had never done a lap band repair and had only placed about 2 dozen bands since Sept. 04 sometime. I am sure she has done many more since then.I was looking for someone with more expirience in fixing my band problem. The up side is they WILL do fills for you even if a different doctor placed your band, once you do the seminar and some other paperwork and health evals etc... so if you were banded someplace else, like Mexico, this is a plus. I also am unimpressed with Middleton Hospital, based on other expiriences, but they may operate somewhere else. This is just one gal's observation. Take it or Leave it.

Erica, you must have been at the same Wish Center seminar I was... The marketing lady kept stalling and trying to answer questions until Dr. Schofiled finally showed up!

WOW! I did'nt mean to cause such a stir. Dr. curry does'nt have to market himself, all his patients do it for him. I would rather rely on other peoples experiences rather than just choose someone out of the book. I met Dr. Curry at the meeting ing July and I liked what he had to say. I would rather have a Dr. that was there to answer all the questions when you need him the most. And that is what I have found reading this board. I'm glad to find out that there are finance companies that allow me to go anywhere. So DR. CURRY, here I come.

OK, maybe I just don't know what bluegrass is. Isn't it like country?

Hi all. Just got back from vacation and had to post on this site. I had my surgery at the WISH center and was very happy with my results, Dr. Schofield, who was wonderful with me and Middletown Hospital. In fact, I now work at the hospital on the bariatric floor because of the care and concern that was shown to me. I am now helping other bariatric patients go through their first few post op days. It is an older hospital but they have just broken ground on a new hospital which will be done in 2008. I also am a Dr. Curry fan. When I was having insurance issues, he answered my questions on this board and has always answered anyone questions. He is definitely NOT marketing for himself and it was not fair for that person to say so. If you still have questions about the WISH center, you may email me and I would be glad to help you in any way I can. It is true that you can get most financing with any physician. there are finance companies that work with bariatric patients from any surgeon. God Bless, Jill Open RNY 11/30/2004 280 starting/250 surgery date/ 180 NOW!!!
