Aetna & WLS

My PCP has recently told me that he would like me to consider WLS because of type II Diabetes, Sleep Apnea, Proteinuria, Heart Palpitations etc... Aetna tells me that it is covered by my plan. But the bad news is...there is no place in Ohio that they approve for my plan. I would have to go to California or Washington state. I can't afford to pay out of network prices. Has anyone else had this problem or can offer me any helpful tips? I'm scared about my health and then to have to put up with yes you can have it but not here....that isn't cool!! I have Aetna and they approved mine at OSU. WHo is the company that your Aetna plan is thru? That sure seems odd...I think you made need to get a little more research. DOn't give up hope...sometimes those insurance folks give out the inccorect information. Keep trying! Karie

I had aetna and was able to have my surgery here in Cleveland at Charity hospital. I agree with the other poster, speak to someone else. Linda

Barix clinics contacted me today and said they would help me with the insurance situation. We may have to get our HR department involved, but it should work at some point. I set up my consultation appointment for next week.

I know WISH Center is also in network with Aetna.

I have AETNA and I went to Dr. Clarey and Bruce in Dayton, Oh

I also have Atena and am using Dr. C...Good luck and keep on them...Pam
