OSU bariatric Program

A question for anyone familiar with the OSU program. I applied and now they've scheduled me for a sleep test, psyc eval, nutricianist and told me to get tests from my PCP...bloodwork and stuff. If they are asking me to do all of this, am I guaranteed approval from their committee for surgery? If not guaranteed, is it likely I'll be approved? I'm going to hire Gary Viscio to fight my insurance exclusion but dont want to pay him now if I might be denied by OSU's committee. However, I'd like to take advantage of this time that I'm getting tests done and let Gary get started. Thanks if anyone knows...the wait is already aweful!

You are going through the application process in order for OSU to find you eligible for their program. I believe acceptance is based on the information that they receive from your pcp, lab results, insurance/ability to pay etc ... and is not a automatically guaranteed program. Each case is different and it would be difficult to even try to speculate. To be very honest with you ... the time spend waiting during your journey is going to test your patience, however OSU does an excellent job in making sure everthing is done in a decent and orderly manner. I wish you the best on your journey. Georgeann

I agree with Sister. I would not worry so much about OSU until you talked to an attorney. Exclusions are hard to beat. I think you would waste a lot of time and money and find out that you don't have coverage unless you can self pay. I will be praying for you and your fight. Richard
