question for Dr.c or anyone who can help
I started my 14 day liquid protein diet on tuesday the 19th and for the past 2 days I have been having some stomach cramping and direaha the only thing they are allowing me to have is protein shakes (as much as I want) been drinking 5- 16 oz shakes a day + 2 cups of chicken broth and 2-3 sugar free popcicles and my 48-64 oz of water I have also been getting some headaches with it I have been watching my BP and testing my sugar and they have been fine what could be causing this? I thought I would get constipated with drinking all the milk I mix my protein powder with fat free skim milk are these symptoms normal to have during the liquid protein diet?

Had you ever tried the protein shake before? You could be sensitive to the type of sweetener that was used in it. Or it possibly has increased fiber that you have not been used to having in your diet. Are you drinking them at the same time of day or throughout the day? Have you always tolerated milk or is this something you just started adding in your diet with the protein shake?
