My surgery is schedule for this coming Tuesday morning and its Sunday night so not much longer to go. But today has been extremely hard for me. I took my kids to Kings Island today and to see all the food was tough! (I am on the 10 day liquid diet, btw) and tonight for dinner my family ate roasted potatoes, mac n' cheese and chicken. I know they can't stop eating because of me but my alternative to that was yogurt or cream soup. I'd rather not eat at all. The 10 days before have to be the roughest. Are they???? I have no will power, thats why I'm fat! But I haven't cheated yet and I won't this close to surgery. HELP!

Wow! That is rough!! I guess I don't feel so bad now The first couple days of the pre-op diet were murder! The rest of the week was ok but then today it got hard. I think today was more than the diet, it was nerves. My mom will be picking my two little girls up tomorrow so that I can go into the hospital early Tues. morning and they will be staying with her until Friday morning. Tomorrow is my last day to get thru before surgery. I'm sure tomorrow no one will want to be around me! Jenn

end rather than what your giving up. I'm a nut for looking at the sunny side all the time, Before you know it you will be running faster than your two little girls put together and they will wear out before you do. I am sure it's easier said than done, but one day I will be facing what your facing, as soon as I can get approval from my PcP and Insurance Co. My PCP isn't found of the WLS; so it's taking some time getting the ball rolling. Julie K.

The last few days are so hard and emotional. You will get through this I promise. After the surgery you wont want to eat lol. Its so hard to believe. The weight melts off the first few months and it is so much fun. We all tried for so long and all of a sudden something works. Good luck on this wonderful journey and remember, take one day at a time. Love, Cindy

Cindy - it is wonderful of you to post such an encouraging message! I thought I had been doing so well not being nervous about the surgery but now that it is next week, I am beginning to feel it. I was really emotional yesterday and know it is not time to PMS so I think it was just some nerves. So it is very helpful to remember and focus on the postives!! In fact I think I will post a question regarding the positives! Hugs - Stacey

Hi Jenn~~ Your story is like SO many of ours... I thought I wanted eat anything that moved the 10 days before surgery.. thanks to Dr Curry's 10 days of liquids... but, I made it through!!! Dr Curry and his staff are the BEST!!! My decision to drive almost 3 hours to see Dr C was the right one! (read my profile for the whole story) I am 5 months post op and have lost over 60 pounds... I am on a plateau right now, but I keep exercising and eating my protien first... I know the plateau will fall when my body is ready. I AM still losing inches and clothing sizes, so, maybe the fat is being replaced my muscle!!! YEA!! Best of Luck on your surgery!!! you are in the BEST hands!!! HUGS~~ Deb @ Indian Lake

Jenn, I remember those feelings all too well. I just had surgery 7/8. I thought the liquid diet would never end... but it does and it is SO worth it. I knew I was going into the surgery as the healthiest person I could be AND that my weight loss would be majorly kickstarted because of it. I never thought I'd be thankful to be barred from food, but in retrospect, what a wonderful way to start this whole journey out and to heal. And the others aren't lying, you WON'T be hungry after surgery. I was "promoted" to full liquids from clears on Friday and I didn't really have anything full until Sunday. Just wasn't hungry. Sometimes I think they operated on my brain too! LOL Anyway, when you get on that scale a week or two post-op, you'll be so glad you did it. You are in good hands, Dr. C. would never take you down the wrong path. Best of luck in your upcoming journey!
